“I founded SH MODERN in 2014 but have always had art in my life. I studied art history and business at Boston University and upon graduating became an art consultant for a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments. There I received an incredible introduction into the art world. I was featured in the Fidelity Investment annual report magazine. In 2000 I opened my own Art Gallery on the first block of Newbury St. In Boston. I specialized in masterworks and created lifelong relationships with key figures in the art world. From having exhibitions with the Pissarro Family to a Dali exhibition with the publisher Christine Argillet. I helped build collections for prominent figures in the entertainment industry, sports, and political figures. SH Modern was created to specialize in finding rare works of art and offer specialized attention to our clientele.
SH Modern offers in-home art consulting services. This allows us to get to know our clients on a more intimate level. We can see the type of environment that they feel most comfortable in. Our SH Modern consulting team can determine by spending time with them the type of art that will enhance their lives the most. In most cases, we can have the art brought into their home or office space for viewing. It’s important to us that our clients are elated with their art acquisition.
One of our most impactful projects was selecting the art for Genzyme’s new corporate headquarters in Cambridge MA. It is one of only 13 buildings ever to receive a Platinum certificate which is the highest rating issued by the U.S. Green Building Council. Its environmental and energy design are enhanced by open sculpture gardens on each of the 12 levels of the facility. We meticulously selected sculptures by Tola Inbar and ML Snowden to showcase in this award-winning environment. Over 900 of the biotech companies’ employees and more than 400 weekly visitors enjoy the placement of this artwork and 58% of these employees say they are more productive because of their new surroundings.
